The 'Taka' is a wooden coastal trading vessel typical of the Black Sea. Seen here are several, with cargoes of timber, moored against the Cibali shore upstream from the Atatürk Bridge.
The various buildings on the shore have been swept away, being replaced by landscaped gardens. The long building on the right is the Cibali Tobacco and Cigarette Factory, now restored as part of the Kadır Has University campus.
