On an ancient site, the church dates from the early 16th century, being repaired in 1730. In 1829 a new church was built a mile or so to the south, and this building became a ruin.
The graveyard continued in use. My great-great-great-grandfather, William Dockar, a farmer, formerly of Findon, then Gellyhill, who died in 1871, is buried here.
