Various ocean-going yachts are moored at the Millbay Docks, Plymouth, before the 1968 OSTAR Single-handed Trans-Atlantic race. Here Frenchman Joan de Kat has a pre-race chat. They set off on June 1 - later, Kat's trimaran Yaksha broke up in the Atlantic some 600 miles west of Ireland. He spent 36 hours in a life raft before being rescued.
